Crossing Boundaries and Engaging Communities
In the Process of ASEAN-China Regional Integration
In recent years, with the development of regional integration between China and ASEAN, crossing boundaries and engaging communities have become unavoidable issues. Crossing boundaries not means economic cooperation needs to cross nations, but also means pluralistic social and cultural issues of ASEAN-China will cross-boundaries, cross-culture and trans-regions. Meanwhile, engaging communities is a comprehensive and complex process which involved economic, political, social and cultural integration etc.
The first session of this conference was held successfully on the basis of joint efforts from Chiang Mai University and Chongqing University in July 2016, the topic of which was “Regional Coordinated Development between Southeast Asia and China and its Inclusion and Exclusion Mechanism”. During that conference, scholars from both sides processed constructive dialogues and enhanced mutual intellectual interests and cooperation potentials. In regard for sustainable intellectual outcomes, we plan to invite more scholars of different nationalities and backgrounds to join this coming conference in Chongqing.
